Lac Bay / Sorobon
Best for: Windsurfing and wind-sport vacations
Lac Bay is completely different from Bonaire's west coast.
If windsurfing and the shallow waters around the bay are the focus of your vacation, staying here puts the activity directly outside your accommodation.
For most first-time visitors who want to explore the entire island, I'd still favor the west coast.
But for a dedicated wind-sports trip, Lac Bay makes much more sense.

2. The Bellafonte

The Bellafonte is a smaller oceanfront property in Belnem.

Best Bonaire hotel for snorkeling
If snorkeling is one of the main reasons you're coming to Bonaire, don't judge hotels only by whether they have a beach.

A property where you can easily enter the water can be more useful than a beautiful sandy beach with less interesting snorkeling.
The Bellafonte and several dive-oriented properties are worth investigating if frequent snorkeling is a priority.
But don't limit yourself to your hotel reef.

Belnem is particularly appealing if you want quieter evenings and don't mind driving into Kralendijk for dinner.
Best Bonaire hotels for families

Apartment and villa-style accommodation can be particularly useful because you aren't forced to eat every meal at a restaurant.
