Aruba Baby Packing List: What to Bring, Buy & Rent

Packing for Aruba with a baby or toddler can feel like packing the house: diapers, bottles, beach gear, clothes and somewhere to sleep. You do not need to bring all of it.

Bring personal essentials, familiar feeding supplies and sun-protective clothing. Rent larger pieces such as cribs, high chairs and strollers when a listing fits your child and dates. A newborn, a six-month-old and a two-year-old will not need the same bag.

1. Baby beach essentials

Sun protection comes first. Shade, clothing and a hat do more for a young baby than a long stretch in direct sun.

UPF 50+ swimwear

Long-sleeved rash guards and UV-protective swimwear cover more skin near the beach. Look for a lightweight fabric with a clearly stated UPF rating.

Wide-brim sun hat

Choose a hat that shades the face, ears and neck. A wide brim or legionnaire style covers more than a baseball cap.

Sunscreen

For babies six months and older, pack broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Mineral formulas with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are often easier on sensitive skin. For babies younger than six months, prioritize shade and clothing, and ask your pediatrician before using sunscreen.

Portable shade

A beach umbrella or a ventilated shade shelter can make a visit more comfortable. Follow the manufacturer's setup instructions. Never leave a baby unattended inside a beach tent, and check often for overheating.

Swim diapers

Pack swim diapers that fit if your baby will be in a pool or a suitable swimming area. They are not waterproof and do not replace diaper checks or pool rules.

Also pack

  • Lightweight towels and a change of clothes.
  • A waterproof wet bag.
  • Baby-safe sunglasses, if your child will wear them.
  • Drinking and feeding supplies.
  • A few small beach toys for older babies and toddlers.
  • A carrier for short outings where a stroller is awkward.

Ordinary stroller wheels struggle on soft sand. A beach or outdoor wagon can carry towels and toys. Options are in Stroller Rental in Aruba. A beach-wagon starting price was not confirmed in the November 2026 examples, so check the listing.

2. What to pack for the flight

The carry-on should cover the flight, the airport and a delay. Keep medication, formula and feeding supplies with you, not in checked bags.

  • Diapers for the journey, plus extras.
  • Wipes, a portable changing mat and two changes of baby clothes.
  • A spare shirt for a parent.
  • Bottles, formula or breastfeeding supplies, bibs and burp cloths.
  • Age-appropriate snacks if your child eats solids.
  • Pacifiers, if used, plus a few small toys, books and comfort items for awake time.
  • Medication, travel documents, and a wet bag or plastic bags for dirty clothes.

Changing mat

A foldable mat helps in airports, airplane restrooms and public changing areas.

Wet bag

A reusable waterproof bag holds wet swimwear, dirty clothes and diapering supplies.

Baby carrier

A carrier is useful in the airport and anywhere a stroller is inconvenient. Use a model that fits your child's age and size, and follow the positioning instructions. If you need a stroller for the whole airport journey, bringing a compact one is often more practical than renting after you land.

3. Baby clothes for a warm week

Aruba stays warm, so lightweight clothes are the default. Pack a light layer for air-conditioned restaurants, the airport and your room. These quantities are a seven-day planning estimate. Change them for your child's age, laundry access and how often you expect outfit changes. A washing machine in a villa or apartment means you can pack less.

ClothingSuggested quantity
Lightweight daytime outfits8–10
Pajamas or sleep outfits3–5
UPF swim outfits2–3
Sun hats2
Lightweight cardigan or layer1–2
Socks2–3 pairs
Footwear for walking toddlers1–2 pairs
Swim diapersBased on swimming plans

4. Feeding essentials

Familiar products are worth the suitcase space. Stores in Aruba sell baby items, but a specific brand or formula may not be on the shelf.

Breastfeeding

Nursing-friendly clothes, breast pads if you use them, a pump and compatible parts if you need them, storage supplies, a cooler bag for transport, and bottle-cleaning equipment if you use bottles.

Formula

Bring enough of the usual formula, bottles, nipples, a dispenser, a bottle brush, sterilizing supplies that match your routine, and an insulated bag if you transport prepared feeds. Do not assume the same formulation will be available locally.

Solids

Familiar travel snacks, silicone bibs, spoons, spill-resistant cups, small containers and any specialty foods your child needs.

High chair

A full-size high chair is a poor item to fly with. If the hotel or rental does not provide one, rent locally. A November 2026 starting price was not confirmed, so check the listing.

5. Sleep essentials

Bring a sleep sack suited to the room temperature, pajamas, pacifiers if used, and fitted sheets only when they match the sleep product. For infants, use a firm, flat sleep surface and keep loose blankets, pillows, bumpers and toys out of the sleep space.

Example BabyQuip sleep listings reviewed in November 2026. Minimum rental periods, delivery and other charges vary. If the stay cannot guarantee a suitable crib, reserve one before you travel. More is in Crib Rental in Aruba.

6. Diapers, wipes and toiletries

Everyday supplies are sold in Aruba. Still bring enough for the flight and the first days, especially if your child needs a specific brand.

A diaper bag usually holds diapers, wipes, cream, a changing mat, bags for used diapers, a spare outfit, hand sanitizer for adults and baby toiletries.

AgeApproximate daily changes
Newborn8–12
Older infant6–8
Toddler4–6

Those counts are planning estimates. Use your child's actual routine. You can pack for the whole trip or buy more after you arrive.

7. Car seats, strollers and carriers

Car seat

If you are renting a car, arrange a child restraint before the first drive. Do not assume a rental car or taxi includes one. You can bring your own seat or rent one. Example November 2026 starts: high-back booster from $8/day, convertible seat from $9/day, infant seat from $11/day, and a car seat with stroller from $20/day. Read Car Seat Rental in Aruba before the airport transfer.

Stroller

Useful for resort walks, shopping and short sightseeing. Example starts: lightweight from $9/day, jogging from $18/day, single from $22/day, double from $25/day, and a stroller wagon from $20/day. Bring your own if you need it at the departure or arrival airport.

Carrier

A carrier suits short outings and hot walks where a stroller is less practical. Match it to your child's size and stage, and watch for overheating.

8. Health and safety supplies

Pack prescribed medication, a digital thermometer, basic first-aid supplies, any medicines your pediatrician recommended, insect repellent that matches your child's age, copies of important medical information, and travel-insurance details.

Read the age limits on sunscreen and insect repellent before you use them. If your baby is very young or has specific medical needs, talk with your pediatrician before an international trip. This page is a packing list, not medical advice.

9. What to rent instead of pack

For car seats and sleep equipment, confirm the exact model, condition and manufacturer instructions. “Check listing” means a November 2026 starting rate was not confirmed.

10. What you can buy in Aruba

Supermarkets and stores sell groceries, toiletries and everyday family supplies. Depending on the store, that can include diapers, wipes, baby toiletries, basic baby food, some formula, snacks, bottled water and household basics.

Brand and stock vary. Bring enough of any specialty product you cannot substitute. A supermarket stop after arrival is easier if you are staying in a villa or apartment.

11. Example list for seven days

Carry-on

Passport and documents, diapers and wipes for the journey, two spare outfits, formula or feeding supplies, age-appropriate snacks, medication, a changing mat, small toys and a wet bag.

Suitcase

Eight to ten lightweight outfits, three to five sleep outfits, two or three swim outfits, two sun hats, sunscreen, toiletries, extra diapers or a plan to buy them, a beach towel, feeding accessories, and shoes for a walking toddler.

Arrange before you fly

A crib or playard, a car seat for airport transportation, a stroller if you are renting one, a high chair if you need it, the airport transfer, travel insurance, and written confirmation if the hotel says it will provide a crib.

Aruba baby packing list FAQs

What should I pack for Aruba with a baby?

Diapers, wipes, lightweight clothing, sun-protective swimwear, a sun hat, feeding supplies, medications and travel documents. Rent bulky pieces such as cribs, high chairs and strollers when you can.

Can I buy diapers in Aruba?

Yes. Everyday baby products are sold locally, and brand selection varies. Bring enough for the journey and the first days.

Should I bring baby formula?

If your baby uses a specific formula, bring enough for the trip. Do not assume that brand or formulation will be in stock.

Do I need a stroller?

It helps for resort walks, shopping and sightseeing. Bring your own if you need it at the airport. Otherwise you can rent one.

Should I bring a car seat?

You need an appropriate restraint for car travel. Bringing your own means a familiar seat. Renting means less luggage. Arrange it before the first drive.

Do hotels provide cribs?

Some offer a crib or playard on request. Availability varies, so confirm with the hotel before you travel.

Can you rent baby equipment in Aruba?

Yes. BabyQuip lists strollers, car seats, cribs, high chairs and other gear.

What should a baby wear?

Lightweight, breathable clothes, sun-protective swimwear, a wide-brimmed hat, and sleepwear that suits an air-conditioned room.

Is sunscreen appropriate for babies?

For babies six months and older, broad-spectrum water-resistant SPF 30 or higher is the usual packing choice. Younger babies should mainly be kept in shade and covered. Ask your pediatrician before using sunscreen on a young infant.

Do I need to bring a high chair?

Usually not. Check whether the stay provides one. If it does not, a local rental may be available. Check the current listing for the price.

Pack less, then fill the gaps

Bring personal essentials, familiar feeding products and sun-protective clothing. Rent the bulky equipment that would take the suitcase. The wider trip plan is in Aruba With a Baby.
